The care and support from your side until my surgery was truly wonderful and beyond expectations. However, after the surgery, I have been facing a lot of difficulty in getting an appointment with the doctor for the review. It has been almost a month, and I still haven’t been able to consult the doctor. I am quite disappointed with the post-surgery follow-up and support.
EXTREMELY SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT PATIENT CARE – PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS--MORTALITY REPORTED ON 11.08.2026 We are deeply disappointed and distressed by our family’s experience with DR. SHAMMY’S CARE CLINIC, POTHENCODE, TRIVANDRUM-KERALA On 05 AUGUST 2026, a patient was admitted to SP Medifort Hospital for surgery. We were subsequently told by the doctor in charge Dr. Shammy S.S., that he had his own hospital/clinic and that the surgery could be performed there, questioning why the family should spend the additional amount at SP Medifort. Being a middle-class family with limited financial resources, the family trusted this advice and shifted the patient to DR. SHAMMY’S CARE CLINIC, POTHENCODE. Unfortunately, our experience after the surgery was extremely distressing. The patient repeatedly complained of severe pain, but according to the family, there was inadequate attention and follow-up during the post-operative period. We were particularly concerned about the lack of proper post-surgical monitoring and timely medical intervention. After approximately two days of continuing complications, the patient was discharged online by the same doctor without listening to the patient's condition. The condition subsequently deteriorated significantly. At around 11:00 AM, the patient suffered a serious medical episode and developed kidney-related complications. The family was later advised to shift the patient back to SP Medifort Hospital and was strictly instructed to wait for ambulance from Medifort at around 7:30 PM, not allowing to shift with other immediate available ambulances. Despite extensive treatment at SP Medifort, the patient sadly passed away this morning. As a family, we are devastated and have serious concerns about whether timely and appropriate post-operative care could have changed the outcome. These concerns need to be properly investigated by the appropriate medical and legal authorities. WE STRONGLY URGE PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO CAREFULLY CONSIDER ALL AVAILABLE OPTIONS AND SEEK AN INDEPENDENT MEDICAL OPINION BEFORE UNDERGOING SURGERY AT THIS FACILITY. The family intends to pursue the appropriate legal and medical channels to investigate the circumstances surrounding the treatment, post-operative care, delay in escalation, and the overall standard of care provided. This review is being posted to document our experience and to urge patients to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
