While the surgery for my father’s inguinal hernia was successful, the journey was filled with administrative deception and financial shocks. The Good: Eminent Hospital & Medical Team I have nothing but praise for the staff at Eminent Hospital. They were courteous, helpful, and dependable. Dr. Ashwin Kumar Aochat was calm, professional, and performed a successful surgery. The hospital even offered discounts on cash payments—a gesture the PC management completely ignored. The Bad: Pristyn Care’s Business Tactics My experience with the PC management (specifically a coordinator named Saquib) was highly stressful: Surgeon Bait-and-Switch: I specifically requested a different surgeon (Dr. Rakesh Shivhare). PC officials pressured me into choosing their panel doctor instead, using "availability" as a tactic. Financial Deception: I was initially told my 1 Lakh insurance would cover everything. However, on the day of admission, they demanded an extra ₹42,000 in cash. It appears PC attempts to bill insurance companies nearly double the actual cost (quoting 1.8 Lakhs for a 91k procedure), which leads to insurance rejections and forces the patient to pay "co-pay" out of pocket. Patient Neglect: Due to coordination failures between PC and the insurance team, the surgery was delayed by an entire day. My father was kept fasting from the previous evening until 5:30 PM the next day, only to be told the Anesthesiologist had left because PC hadn't cleared the paperwork. Summary: If you go to Eminent Hospital, deal with them directly. Avoid the middleman. Pristyn Care operates with a purely commercial attitude, sidelining patient choice and transparency for their own margins.
