Went in with a throat infection and came out feeling like I had been diagnosed with the final stage of humanity. Immediate 2-day admission was recommended, preferably in the same hospital. A surprising amount of attention was also given to whether I had medical insurance. Having dealt with similar infections since childhood, I found the urgency unusual. The funniest part? By the next morning, the infection had largely settled on its own. I guess even the virus woke up, checked the admission recommendation, and decided to leave out of embarrassment.
